The degree in dietetics is developed over a period of three academic years and is offered to a number of 12 students. The course is organized both on front-line lessons and practical training and covers basic and clinical aspects of human nutrition, dietetics and clinical nutrition. The practical training is carried on within the Department of Medicine and Health Sciences of  Università del Molise, the Unit of Dietetics and Clinical Nutrition of A.Cardarelli Hospital in Campobasso, the Unit of Diabetes and Metabolism of A. Cardarelli Hospital and the Territorial Service in Food Hygiene and Nutrition of A.S.Re.M., Campobasso and represents a fundamental step in the educational process, giving a deeper insight on specific and qualifying techniques.

Didactic guidelines allow for personal activities and research for at least 50% of  time scheduled for each credit.

Training objectives
Main objective of the course in dietetics is to develop a professional figure capable to perform various activities related to nutrition and dietetics both in preventive and clinical settings. The Dietetics graduate is competent in all activities related to good nutrition and eating, including educational aspects and cooperation in carrying on of health policies. He can work with single people, groups and populations. He can cooperate on design and realization of research projects. At the end of the three-year period the graduate in Dietetics will have the knowledge and the technical abilities to be employed in companies and institutions dealing with clinical areas, food industry and catering. Moreover he will be competent enough to go on with his academic education applying for a master degree.
Professional opportunities
At the end of the three-year period the graduate in Dietetics can be employed (as employee and/or free-lance) in public or private institutions such as - health facilities (i.e hospitals, nursing homes, care homes) - catering companies - nutrition and eating services for communities, schools, etc - institutions involved in health and food education projects and campaigns - nutritional and dietary consultations both independently and in cooperation with generic and specialist physicians
