Nurse

The degree in nursing is acquired over a period of three academic years. The degree program in Nursing produces health professionals trained to provide general nursing assistance and to perform an essential service which enhances and improves individual communicative and interpersonal skills. Students will become a degreed nurse with a solid expertise in the areas of Clinical training, assistive care, interpersonal relationships, and education. The course is organised both on front-line lessons and practical training. The practical training is carried on within the Department of Medicine and Health Sciences of Università del Molise, the Unit of A. Cardarelli Hospital in Campobasso.

The education of students includes theoretic classes as well as clinical and practical applications. Basic course work focuses on the area of nursing which deals with methods for responding to the needs of patients with health problems both at a general care level and also with respect to specific applications to different divisions of medicine. Students will be supervised by tutors and university mentors. Before and during placements, students will practice in well-equipped teaching laboratories with mannequins and other instructional aids, in order to simulate the nursing practices the students have been taught in theory. Students will become health professionals with a solid training in the areas of Clinical training, assistive care, interpersonal relationships, and education. The nursing profession offers employment opportunities ranging from medical assistance to health education and disease prevention, and from teaching to research. The solid university training and qualification will train graduates to take important responsibilities. Upon completion of the three-year degree, students can pursue further professional studies such as the second-cycle degree in Nursing Sciences and short vocational Master programs. Upon completion of the three-year program, students will be granted a nursing degree, qualifying them as health professionals responsible for general nursing assistance in disease prevention and direct care to patients of all ages.

At the end of the three-year period the graduate in Nursing school can be employed (as employee and/or free-lance) in public or private institutions such as - health facilities (i. e hospitals, nursing homes, care homes).
